Purpose-Driven Learning

At GIU, our Cambridge-based Christian middle school program empowers students to lead their learning journey through our unique teaching method. This pivotal stage nurtures their God-given talents, builds academic discipline, and shapes them for a future of excellence and purpose.

A Day at GIU

At GIU, each day begins with a sense of purpose and flexibility. Students arrive between 6:30 A.M. and 6:50 A.M., giving them time to connect with peers, attend morning devotions, seek extra academic support, or prepare quietly for the day ahead. Our Cambridge-based curriculum is delivered through dynamic, innovative teaching approaches, promoting active, student-led learning. The school day follows a flexible 8-period schedule, with extended double periods designed for interactive lessons, science experiments, creative arts, and project-based learning. Students engage in core subjects like English Language, Literature, Math, Science, French, Global Perspectives, Bible, Art, and P.E., with additional electives to support academic growth and personal development.

Academic Subjects at GIU

At GIU, our Christ-centered academic program is based on the Cambridge curriculum and enhanced by our innovative teaching approaches, which foster student-led exploration, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.

Bible

Students build a solid spiritual foundation through Scripture-based lessons and life-application projects, developing strong Christian values and a service-minded mindset.

Language Arts & Literature (English & French)

Through a rigorous study of grammar, vocabulary, and diverse literary texts, students refine their communication skills in both English and French, preparing them for academic excellence.

Mathematics

Students engage with foundational math concepts in preparation for advanced studies. High-achieving learners may progress to high school-level math by Grade 8.

Physical Education

Daily physical activity promotes wellness, discipline, and teamwork. P.E. is integrated throughout the year to support overall student development.

Science

Hands-on experiments and enquiry-based projects lead students to discover God’s creation—from biology to chemistry and physics—while encouraging responsible stewardship.

Global Perspectives

Following the Cambridge Global Perspectives framework and a uniquely biblical worldview, students analyze global issues, compare cultures, and develop informed, ethical worldviews through research and collaborative projects.

Study Skills

Dedicated sessions support independent learning, time management, and group collaboration, ensuring academic success and balanced student life.

Electives Hour (Student Innovation Hour)

Each Friday, students explore interests and talents in electives such as robotics, music, creative writing, chess, taekwondo, and community service.

Fine Arts

  • Choir: Builds vocal strength and musical expression through diverse choral styles.
  • Orchestra: Enhances instrumental technique for both beginners and experienced players.
  • Visual Arts: Inspires creativity through painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media.

Leadership Opportunities & Enrichment at GIU

CHAPEL EXPERIENCE

Weekly chapel sessions at GIU serve as moments of spiritual renewal and reflection, led by students, staff, and special guests. Through inspiring worship and Scripture-based messages, students deepen their faith while developing leadership skills, guided by our student-faculty Chapel Team.

WORSHIP TEAM

Our Worship Team empowers students to lead through music and creativity. Whether singing, playing instruments, or coordinating worship elements, students take initiative in fostering a Christ-centered atmosphere.

AWARDS & CLUBS

We recognize academic, spiritual, and civic excellence through awards and enrichment clubs. GIU students proudly represent the academy in Cambridge-aligned competitions such as Math Challenges, Spelling Bees, Shark Quiz, and sports tournaments.

FIELD LEARNING

Learning extends beyond the classroom. Our curated field trips complement academic themes—ranging from science labs to literature-inspired theatre visits—and promote physical well-being through outdoor adventure activities.

Summer Programmes

Yearly camps, such as robotics, music, Korean language, science, etc. (Needs to be expanded upon)
